Problem: Setting up account in Outlook Express
Solution: These steps discuss setting up Outlook Express 6.0 other versions may have different settings.
- Start Oulook Express. Outlook Express may display a window already beginning the setup process.
- If Outlook does not display the setup menu. Select Tools and Accounts. Select Mail and Add. Select Mail from the popup.
- Outlook will start the Internet connection wizard. Enter in your name in the display name and click next.
- Enter in your email address and click next.
- Verify that the incoming mail server is set to POP3 server
Enter pop3.vcn.com under incoming mail, making sure that the server name is in
lowercase Click next. NOTE: for other Visionary domains, see
additional information below.
- Enter smtp.vcn.com under outgoing mail, making
sure that the server name is in lowercase. Click next.
- The first part of your email address should already be entered in the username box. Enter in your email
password. (Note: this may be different than your regular login password).
Make sure that "Remember password" is checked and "Log
on using Secure Password Authentication(SPA)" is NOT checked. Click Next
- Click Finish.
Make sure that you are connected and click Send and Recieve.
Other Visionary Domains:
For any other domain, substitute your domain name and extension for vcn.com; e.g. wavecom.net, coffey.com, intrq.com, newwaveis.com.
